TSAMMANI JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This appeal is against the ruling of the Federal High Court, sitting at Abeokuta, delivered by Hon. Justice F.O.G. Ogunbanjo on 25 March 2015. The appellants herein, had approached the lower court by way of an originating summons dated and filed 23 February2015. By the originating summons, the appellants prayed the court for the determination of the following questions:

Whether upon the proper interpretation of section 66(1)(c) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), having been charged a nd/or c onvicte d of offe nc es involving drug trafficking, fraud (by whatever name called), the 1st respondent is qualified for nomination as candidate of the 2nd respondent or any registered political partyin Nigeria and/or eligible to participate in 28 March 2015 National Assembly Election or any future elections conducted by the 3rd respondent.
