ALHAJI MOHAMMED SANI FARL & OTHERS V. ATTORNEY-GENERAL

RULING

All the 47 Plaintiffs herein who were former Members of Parliament in the Third Republic of Ghana commenced the instant action on 13^th October, 2011 against the Attorney General, acting on behalf of the Republic of Ghana for the following reliefs:

a. An order for the Republic of Ghana to pay them their gratuities or end of service benefits as Members of Parliament of the Third Republic of Ghana.

b. Interest at the prevailing commercial bank rate from the 31^st day of December, 1981 to date of payment.

c. Costs including Solicitors’ fee.

The Defendant entered appearance on 20^th October, 2011 and went on to file her statement of defence on 23^rd January, 2012 denying the claim of the Plaintiffs. On 25^th April, 2012, the Plaintiffs filed an application for directions and the Defendant also filed additional issues on 10^th May, 2012.
