<p><strong>IBRAHIM SHATA BDLIYA, J.C.A.(Delivering the Leading Judgment): </strong>This is an appeal against the judgment of the Katsina High Court of Justice (the lower Court) in charge No. KTH/24C/2012 delivered on the 4th of May, 2017, by YUSUF, C. J. The appellant and one other person were arraigned on one count charge before the lower Court, for committing the offence of armed robbery against Alhaji Hammani Dari Aliyu by snatching his Peugeot car and the sum of twenty thousand naira contrary to and punishable under Section 1(1)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, 2004. The appellant was arrested, arraigned and tried before the lower Court. He was convicted in a judgment delivered on the 4th of May 2017, and sentenced to death.</p><p>Aggrieved by the conviction and sentence, he filed a notice of appeal to this Court on the 26th of July 2017.
