Judgement

CHIDI NWAOMA UWA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal is against the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta Judicial Division, delivered by R. N. Ofili-Ajumogobia, J. on 18th day of June, 2012 whereby the Appellant was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour for the offence of dealing in 450 grammes of cannabis sativa. The charge read as follows:-

"That you RAJIDAT KOLEOSHO (F) on or about the 14th of April, 2010, at Akute in Ogun State and within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court and without lawful authority dealt in 450 grammes of cannabis sativa, a narcotic drug similar to Heroin, cocaine or LSD and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 11(c) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap. N30 Laws of the Federation 2004."
