HARUNA SIMON TSAMMANI, JSC (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division delivered on the 15th day of July, 2019.
The Appellant who was the Plaintiff before the Nasarawa State High Court of Justice, Mararaba Judicial Division had claimed that he acquired the parcel of land in dispute from two different individuals, to wit: Mr. Lamilo Turaki and Chief Michael Samson Iya on the 21/2/2007 and 5/2/2014 respectively. That he bought the land through Irrevocable Power of Attorney and Land Sale Agreement respectively. That when he bought the parcel of land measuring 6.82 hectares, he took steps to perfect his title over the said parcel of land whereof he was granted a Statutory Right of Occupancy dated the 20/3/2015 by the Nasarawa State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development.
