J U D G M E N T  


On the 4th of October 2013, Plaintiff a Public Servant working with the Ghana Ports and  Harbours Authority, Tema, commenced the instant acting against the Defendant a bank in  Ghana seeking the following reliefs: 

1. Recovery of the sums of USD 57,035.09 and GH¢20, 997.19 being money  transferred from Plaintiffs accounts by the Defendant without Plaintiffs authority or consent. 

2. Interest on the said sums from February, 2013 to date of final payment. 3. Costs including lawyers cost. 

It is Plaintiff’s case that he held two bank accounts with the Tema Main Branch of Defendant, a  US Dollar account No. 0021134401308701 and a Ghana Cedi Account No. 023094401308701.  That he invested the money in the cedi account in treasury bills. 

That the money in the two accounts were his lifetime savings in preparation for his retirement  due in a few years. 

He alleges that upon his return from a foreign trip in 2013, he called at the Tema main branch to  enquire about his treasury …
