(Delivering the Leading Judgment): The appellant was the 2nd accused person in Charge No. B/ICPC/5/2012 filed by the respondent in the High Court of Edo State, holden at Benin City, wherein one Peter Ayeni and the appellant were charged with the following offences:

Conspiracy to Confer Corrupt Advantage upon themselves and Other Public Officers Contrary to Section 26(1) (c) and punishable under Section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.
