Judgement

SAULAWA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the ruling of the Governorship and Legislative Houses Election Tribunal holden at Umuahia, Abia State which was delivered on 10/7/2007 thereby dismissing the appellants' petition No. ABS/SHA/EPT/8/2007, pursuant to paragraph 3(4) of the Election Tribunal and Court Practice Directions No.2, 2007. The facts and circumstances surrounding this appeal, as could be gleaned from the record of the lower tribunal, are to the effect that on 14/4/07 the 2nd respondent had conducted election into the Abia State House of Assembly. Both the 1st appellant and 1st respondent had contested the said election for Arochukwu State Constituency under the respective platforms of the Peoples Democratic Party (2nd appellant) and Progressive People Alliance (PPA). They contested the said election along with four other candidates sponsored by four different political parties, namely:
