Judgement

UCHECHUKWU ONYEMENAM, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal is against the judgment of the National Industrial Court Abuja delivered by O. Y. Anuwe, J., on the 10th October, 2018.

The fact of the case as presented is that the Respondent by complaint dated and filed on 13th June, 2016, sued the Appellant at the Abuja Judicial Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria for wrongful termination of his appointment. The several reliefs sought at the trial Court are as follows:

(a) A Declaration that series of transfers from Abuja to Lagos and vice versa meted out to the claimant by the defendant and the refusal by the defendant to pay the claimant his transfer benefits amounts to inhuman and degrading treatment.

(b) An order directing the Defendant to pay forthwith to the claimant a total sum of N672,000 (Six Hundred and Seventy-two Thousand Naira only) being gratuity and unpaid transfer benefit that accrued to the claimant.
