DR. ANUNOBI CHIJIOKE RALU V. MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS DISCIPLINARY TRIBUNAL

ABBA BELLO MOHAMMED, JCA (DELIVERING THE LEADING JUDGMENT): This appeal is against the unanimous Direction/Judgment of the Medical and Dental Practitioners Tribunal, holden at Abuja (the Tribunal), in Charge No: MDPDT/9/2018, delivered on the 26th day of September, 2019. Before the Tribunal, the Appellant faced a two count charge as follows:

“That you Doctor Anunobi Chijoke Ralu, registered medical practitioner, practicing as a Registrar Obstetrics and Gynaecology on 6th March, 2017 or thereabouts at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Delta State, received payment from one Mr. Ngozi Uchebuego for the care of Rita Uchebuego (F) now deceased, as a pregnant woman under your care, in your private hospital and thereby conducted yourself infamously in a professional respect contrary to Rule 49.1e of the Code of Medical Ethics in Nigeria, 2008 Edition, and punishable under Section 16(1)(a) and (2) of the Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Act, Cap.
