SANKEY JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This appeal is against the ruling of the Federal High Court delivered by Nnamani, J., on 17 May 2007. The brief facts of the case at the lower court are that the plaintiffs , (hereinafter referred to as the appellants), were in the employment of the respondent as casual workers until 1 February 2007, when they were laid off or summarily terminated upon payment of compensation.
