Facts:

Until 1998, the parties belonged to one communion of the Christian faith called the Church of the Lord Brotherhood. It had branches all over Ghana, Africa and beyond. The headquarters of the church was in Kumasi with the second defendant who was later joined to 1st defendant pastor as the leader and head of the church. The leader of plaintiff was deputy to the 2nd defendant as the overall head. There was prevailing peace among both the senior members, the clergy and the laity in all the branches until the peace of the church was rocked by differences in the doctrine of the church.

Among some of the doctrinal practices of the Church of the Lord Brotherhood was that members were not to wear shoes to enter the temple of the church. Secondly women in their menses were confined to sit at a special place of the temple called the “tent".
