Judgement

JUDGMENT 

On the 25th day of August, 2012, the Petitioner and the Respondent were married  under the Marriage Ordinance, 1951 Rev. (CAP 127) at House No. 1, Nii Klu Street,  Spintex Road, Accra. 

Both parties are citizens of Ghana. However, the Petitioner is resident in Canada,  whilst the Respondent resides in Ghana. The Petitioner is a Geophysical Survey  Operator and the Respondent is a Manager with Wienco (Ghana) Limited. 

There is one child of the marriage – Mario Gesi Tsrakasu, aged 5 years. The Petitioner filed a petition praying for the following reliefs: 

a. That the marriage be dissolved

b. That the Petitioner be given reasonable access to the child of the marriage

c. That the Petitioner should provide maintenance for the child of the marriage 

d. That the Respondent shall not be entitled to any alimony since she is the cause of the breakdown of the marriage.

The Respondent filed an answer and cross-petition and prayed the Court for the  following reliefs:
