Judgement

J U D G M E N T 

The parties were married under the Marriage Ordinance on the 16th day of  November, 1996 at the Apostles Continuation Church, Mpatasie, Kumasi under the Marriage Ordinance (Cap 127) (1951 Rev.). The parties had married under  Akan custom prior to the Ordinance Marriage. 

The Petitioner is a trader in jute bags at Kantamanto, Accra whilst the Respondent is a businessman who trades in coffin accessories in Accra and Abidjan. He also owns several shops in Accra and Abidjan. There are four (4)  issues of the marriage. 

Per the petition filed on the 9th day of September, 2014, on the grounds that the marriage has behaved in a way that the Petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to live with the Respondent, the Petitioner is praying for the following  reliefs:

a. The marriage celebrated between the parties be dissolved.

b. The Petitioner be granted custody of the children of the marriage.

c. The Respondent be ordered to pay a lump sum financial settlement to the  Petitione…
