AN ACT to consolidate and amend the law relating to the control of rents and the recovery of the possession of premises in certain cases, to amend certain provisions of existing enactments and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.BE IT ENACTED by the President and the National Assembly in this present Parliament assembled as follows:—

Part I – APPLICATION OF ACT, ETC.

1. Application of Act, Etc.

(1)Subject to the provisions of subsection (2), this Act shall apply to all premises in Ghana.

(2)This Act shall not apply to—

(a)any premises of which a public officer is a tenant by reason of his employment and of which premises the Government is the landlord;
