AN ACT to empower the Chief Justice to suspend the payment of the salaries of Justices and Magistrates and to provide for related matters.

1. Chief Justice to suspend payment of salary

(1)Where a Justice, Judge or Magistrate fails to comply with the provisions of(a)paragraph 32A of the Court of Appeal Rules, 1962 (L.I. 218), or(b)paragraph 2A of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 1954 (L.N. 140A), or(c)paragraph 1 of the District Court Rules, 1977 (L.I. 1127),2(2)(relating to the time limit for the delivery of judgment) and the Chief Justice is satisfied that the failure is unjustified the Chief Justice may order the suspension of the salary of the Justice, Judge or Magistrate until the time that the Justice, Judge or Magistrate complies with tho…
