An Act to provide for the establishment of the National Open University and for its general administration; for the transfer thereto of property held on its behalf by the Provisional Council and for other purposes connected therewith.
Constitution and objects of the University and its constituent bodies
1. Incorporation and objects of the National Open University
(1)There is hereby established a university to be known as the National Open University, which shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal.(2)The University may sue or be sued in its corporate name.(3)The objects of the University shall be-(a)to encourage the advancement of learning throughout Nigeria by means of tuition carried out mainly by correspondence and closely supplemented by lectures, broadcasts by radio and television, as well as by occasional s…
