AN ACT TO ESTABLISH THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL WORK PRACTITIONERS AND MAKE PROVISIONS, AMONGST OTHER THINGS, FOR THE TRAINING OF PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS AND CONTROL OF THE PROFESSION OF SOCIAL WORK ; AND FOR RELATED MATTERSENACTED by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria—

Part I – ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL WORK PRACTITIONERS

1. Establishment of the Chartered Institute of Social Work Practitioners.

(1)There is established the Institute of Social Work Practitioners (in this Act referred to as “the Institute”).

(2)The Institute—

(a)is body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal ;

(b)may sue and be sued in its corporate name ; and

(c)may, subject to the Land Use Act, acquire, hold and dispose of any property, movable or i…
