ABIRU JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): The appellant commenced the action in the lower court against the respondent and his claims were for: the sum of N1,800,000.00 (one million eight hundred thousand naira) being the value of his car taken by the respondent; and , the sum of N180,000.00 (one hundred and eighty thousand naira) as general damages and the cost of prosecuting the action.
