SOTONYE DENTON-WEST, JCA (DELIVERING THE LEADING JUDGMENT): This appeal is against the ruling of the Ondo State High Court, sitting in Akure, delivered on 31/10/2013 in suit No: AK/171/2011, in favour of the plaintiffs/respondents.
By amended statement of claim dated 10/10/2012, the respondents as plaintiffs commenced an action in the High Court of Ondo State in Suit No: AK/171/2011 praying for:
1. A declaration that the individual plaintiffs are entitled to freedom of religion either alone or in the community with others and cannot be forced to be members or affiliated to any religion and/or denomination including the 1st defendant, in breach of their constitutional rights or against their respective wills.
