JUDGMENT 

DAVIS, J.

The Petitioner married the Respondent under the Marriage Ordinance, 1951  Rev. (CAP 127) on the 29th day of September, 2012 in Koforidua in the Eastern  Region of Ghana. 

The parties are both Ghanaian citizens and domiciled in Ghana. The Petitioner is a Beautician and a Businesswoman whilst the Respondent, who used to work with  the Barclays Bank before the marriage is currently unemployed. There are two children of the marriage.

The Petitioner filed a petition for the dissolution of the marriage between her and the Respondent and also for the following reliefs: 

a. An order for the custody of the children of the marriage in favour of the Petitioner 

b. An order for financial provision of GH¢20,000.00 

c. An order for monthly maintenance of GH¢3,000.00 

d. Any just and equitable order that the Court may deem fit 

The Respondent filed an answer and stated:
