An Act of Parliament to establish an institutional framework for the control of alcohol and drug abuse and for the formulation and implementation of policy thereto and for connected purposes

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title.

This Act may be cited as the National Authority for the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2012 (No. 4 of 2012).

2. Interpretation.

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—"alcoholic drink" has the meaning assigned to it under section 2 of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2010 (No. 4 of 2010);"Authority" means the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse established by section 4;"Board" means the Board of the Authority constituted pursuant to section 6;"Cabinet Secretary" means the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry fo…
