AN ACT of Parliament to establish the National Drought Management Authority, to provide for the membership, powers and functions of the Authority and for connected purposes.

Part I – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the National Drought Management Authority Act, 2016.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—"Authority" means the National Drought Management Authority established under section 3;"Board" means the Board of the Authority established under section 8;"Cabinet Secretary" means the Cabinet Secretary for the time being responsible for matters relating to drought management;"Chairperson" means the chairperson of the Board established under section 8;"former Authority" means the Authority established under paragraph 3 of the National Drought Management…
