AN ACT to amend the Human Trafficking Act, 2005 (Act 694) in order to redefine human trafficking and to provide for related purposes.
ENACTED by the President and Parliament:

1. Section 1 of Act 694 amended

Section 1 of the Human Trafficking Act, 2005 (Act 694) referred to in this Act as the principal enactment is amended by the substitution for subsection (1) of"(1) Human trafficking means the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, trading or receipt of persons for the purpose of exploitation within and across national borders by(a)the use of threats, force or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud, deception, the abuse of power or exploitation of vulnerability, or(b)giving or receiving payments and benefits to achieve consent."
