AN ACT to amend the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2001 (Act 601) to provide for Shaqq Day and the 1st day of July as statutory public holidays and for related matters.

1. Section 3 of Act 601 amended

The Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2001 (Act 601) referred to in this Act as the "principal enactment" is amended by the substitution for section 3, of
3."Substituted holidays
(1)Where the President is satisfied that it would be inexpedient for a day provided under section 1 to be observed as a public holiday, the President may, by executive instrument, declare any other day to be observed as a public holiday instead of that day.
