An Act of Parliament to provide for the establishment of the Kenya Maritime Authority as a body with responsibility to monitor, regulate and coordinate activities in the maritime industry, and for all other matters connected therewith and incidental thereto

Part I – – PRELIMINARY

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Kenya Maritime Authority Act, 2006.

2. Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—“Authority” means the Kenya Maritime Authority established under section 3;“Board” means the Board of Directors of the Authority constituted under section 6;“Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Authority appointed under section 6;“Director-General” means the Director-General of the Authority appointed under section 11;“flag State” means the State whose flag a s…
