Judgement

M. D. MUHAMMAD, J.S.C. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Jos Division, hereinafter referred to as the lower court, delivered on the 29th November 2019 affirming the decision of the Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal delivered on 7th October 2019.

The 1st appellant sponsored by the 2nd appellant had contested the Bauchi State Gubernatorial Election conducted by the 1strespondent on the 9th and 23rd March 2019. The 2nd respondent sponsored by the 3rd respondent was among thirty candidates of other political parties who also contested the Gubernatorial Election.

At the conclusion of the polls on the 23rd March 2019, the 2nd respondent herein, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, having won the majority of votes cast at the election, was declared and returned elected as the Governor of Bauchi State by the 1st respondent.

Aggrieved, the appellants, on the 12th day of April 2019, filed a petition at the Bauchi Stateā€¦
