Judgement

MOHAMMED LAWAL GARBA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): On his plea of guilty, the Appellant was convicted and sentenced to ten (10) years imprisonment with hard labour by the Federal High Court, Lagos, on the 29th of October, 2014 for the following charge: -

"That you ONYEMAECHI REMIGUS CHIBUZOR, Male, Adult, on or about the 20th day of December 2011 at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja Lagos within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, during the outward clearance of Emirate Airline Flight to Malaysia without lawful authority exported 600 grams of methamphetamine, a psychotropic substance, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 11(b) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act, Cap N30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004."

The Appellant has brought this appeal against the conviction and sentence by the Notice of Appeal dated and filed on the 17th of December, 2014, on the following two (2) grounds:-
