JUDGMENT

AMALEBOBA, J.

The Petitioner and Respondent were married at the Aggrey Chapel, Achimota School, Accra under the Marriage Ordinance 1884 – 1985 (Cap 127), on 24th November 2000. The Marriage which was celebrated under License Number AMA 7901/2000 was evidenced by a Marriage Certificate Number BACI – 25/2000/6. 

The wife – Petitioner issued this Petition against her husband, the Respondent, praying for the following reliefs; 

a. an order to declare the marriage between the Petitioner and Respondent as broken down beyond reconciliation 

b. an order for the dissolution of the marriage 

c. an order for the Respondent to pay substantial alimony to the  Petitioner 

d. Respondent to pay cost of the divorce proceedings including Petitioner’s Counsel’s cost. 

The ground upon which the Petition was issued as averred to by the Petitioner, is that the marriage has broken down beyond reconciliation. Particularly, that the Respondent has behaved in such a manner that the Petitioner cannot be  reaso…
