The plaintiff/respondent in this appeal was at all material times a fuel or petrol tanker driver whilst the defendant/appellant was the owner of a fuel tanker. Sometime in 2005 the plaintiff/respondent (hereinafter referred to only as the plaintiff) was employed by the defendant/appellant (hereinafter referred to only as the defendant) to drive her fuel tanker with registration number AS 2072 F (the vehicle). It was the case of the plaintiff in his pleadings that the parties agreed that the plaintiff would be paid GH₵150.00 per month for his services ‘which plaintiff agreed rather desperately.’ (sic) According to the plaintiff the defendant had also intimated to him that he (the plaintiff) would not be paid any salary immediately because the defendant was heavily indebted to the Ghana Oil Company and the plaintiff would only be paid ‘after the said debt had been fully liquidated.’ The plaintiff continued further that he commenced the work as driver on the 16/1/2005 a…
