J U D G M E N T 

The Petitioner and the Respondent were married under the Marriage Ordinance (Cap 127) at the Office of the Principal Registrar of Marriages, Accra on the 16th day of January, 2006. The parties had previously married under the Akan Customary Law. 

The Petitioner is a Tailor whilst the Respondent is a Nurse. The marriage did not produce an issue.  

Per the petition, the Petitioner is praying for the dissolution of the marriage. The Petitioner who is forty-five (45) years old, testified on oath that after the celebration of their marriage in the year 2006, the parties cohabited at Adenta. 

He tendered a photocopy of the marriage certificate which was admitted in evidence as EXHIBIT ‘A’. The original is in the possession of the Respondent. 

He testified further that the Respondent who is ordinarily resident in Canada left the country after the marriage in 2006 and has never returned to Ghana where the Petitioner is domiciled.
