Judgement

AUGIE JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): The respondents were plaintiffs in an earlier action, suit No. MT/11/88 filed at the High Court, Ota, Ogun State, wherein they had claimed compensation for a parcel of land requisitioned by the Federal Government but later transferred to the OgunState Government. The parties to the said suit agreed to settle the matter, and the terms of settlement which was filed and entered as the judgment of the court on the 13/12/91, are as follows -

The 5th, 6th and 7th defendants on behalf of the government of Ogun State, shall pay the following sums of money to the plaintiffs:- N3,700,124.60 as compensation for crops ; N2,137,651.82 as compensation for land.

A Total - N5,837,776.42

The OgunState HousingCorporation, a corporation established under the Ogun State Housing Corporation Law, Cap. 81 Laws of Ogun State, 1978 being the beneficiary of the estate and acting as an agent of the government of Ogun State, shall pay to the plaintiffs the sums (compensat…
