AUGIE JCA (Delivering the Lead Ruling): The applicant, who was arraigned before the Federal High Court, Kaduna on charges of corrupt enrichment, money laundering, etc., was admitted to bail on 11 February 2008 after about two months in prison custody, on the following conditions imposed by the lower court:
“...The sum of N50,000,000.00 (fifty million naira) and three sureties in the like sum and each must have landed properties within Kaduna and which value must not be less than the stipulated bail sum. The original documents to the landed properties shall be deposited in court as so also the 1st accused’s International, diplomatic passports” (Italics mine)
He thereafter filed an application dated 18 February 2008 praying for:
