(Delivering the Lead Ruling): This ruling is in respect of two motions on notice, dated the 20th day of January, 2017 and filed on the 23rd day of January, 2017 wherein the applicants sought for the order of this Court, extending time within which the appellants/applicants (hereinafter referred to as the applicants) shall compile and transmit the record of appeal in this appeal matter and motion on notice dated and filed on the 11th day of November, 2016 wherein the applicants sought for the order of this Court, staying proceedings or further proceedings in the High Court of Imo State sitting at Owerri (hereinafter referred to as the Lower Court) in Suit No: HOW/794/2012 from where this interlocutory appeal emanated from. The two applications were supported by a fourteen (14) paragraph and a nineteen (19) paragraph affidavits, respectively.
