MUHAMMED JAMIU V. THE STATE

BIOBELE ABRAHAM GEORGEWILL, J.C.A. (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of the High Court of Ogun State, Ilaro Division, Coram: N. O. Durojaiye J, in Charge No. HCT/13R/2019: The State V. Muhammed & Anor., delivered on 6/10/2022, in which the Appellant as Defendant was convicted for the offences of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery, and sentenced to death by hanging.

The Appellant was peeved with the said judgment and had appealed against it vide his Notice of Appeal filed on 14/11/2022 on two Grounds of Appeal. See pp 103-105 of the Record of Appeal. The Record of Appeal was compiled and transmitted to this Court on 30/12/2022. Subsequently, with the leave of Court, an Amended Notice of Appeal was filed on 6/12/2024 on two Grounds of Appeal. The Parties filed and exchanged their briefs, namely: The Appellant’s brief and the Respondent’s brief.
