CHUKWUMA-ENEH JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This appeal is against the ruling of the Calabar High Court of Cross River State (coram: Ibok J.) dismissing the plaintiff/appellant’s entitlement to the A payment of post judgment interest on the judgment debt entered against the defendants/respondents in this case.

Aggrieved by the decision, the appellant has filed a notice of appeal containing a solitary ground of appeal. And because the said ground of appeal is central to determining the competency of the respondents’ sole issue for determination, it is for ease of reference reproduced in extenso as follows: “The learned trial Judge erred in law in dismissing the appellant’s application on the ground that awarding post judgment interest will aggravate the already bad situation of the respondents.
