(Delivering the Leading Judgment): The respondent as claimant, narrated that one Mr. Felix Fadare, an acquaintance of the respondent introduced the appellant to the respondent, as being interested in renting a 3 Bedroom flat, situate at No.6, Olajide Olabanji Street, Lekki Phase I, Lagos, being managed by the respondent. After been satisfied of the state, the appellant indicated interest and the conditions precedent for letting the premises were with some concessions. She issued some cheques to that effect. Nevertheless, the appellant failed to honour her final obligation, which is to give effect to a cheque of N75,000.00 (Seventy-Five Thousand Naira) she willingly issued to the respondent and post-dated for one year, as a result of which the cheque was dishonoured by the Bank when presented for value.
