Okenwa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jugo Nigeria Limited of No. 5 Ashogbon Street, Idumota Lagos. The complaint
Judgement
ALHAJI ABDULLAHI IBRAHIM, SAN, CHAIRMAN (Delivering the Judgment of the Committee): Mr. Jude Chinedu Oranuba, a legal practitioner who is the respondent herein has pleaded not guilty to the under mentioned complaint by one Joseph U. Okenwa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jugo Nigeria Limited of No. 5 Ashogbon Street, Idumota Lagos. The complaint as encapsulated in the petitions dated July 1,1999 and 17 November, 1999 is that:
"(i)Mr. J. C. Oranuba while acting as solicitor for the complainant, procured three Joint Venture agreements and induced the complainant to execute them on a misrepresentation that they were one document;
(ii)The Joint Venture agreements were all witnessed by Messrs. J. C. Oranuba and Sonny Nwankwo, legal practitioners;
(iii)One of the Joint Venture agreements was dated 25 February, 1988, a date when Mr. J. C. Oranuba had not qualified as a legal practitioner;
(iv)Unknown to the complainant, Mr. J. C. Oranuba in collusion with the other Joint Venture partner…
