OBADINA, JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): This appeal is against the judgment of the High Court of Plateau State delivered by Hon. Justice

D. Naron, on the 26th of January, 1996 declaring the summary dismissal of the respondent by the appellant as null and void and of no effect. The respondent was the plaintiff at the lower court while the appellant was the defendant. On the 14th of December, 1983, the respondent was employed by the appellant as a Senior Clerk at a Commencing Salary of (N3,112.00) three thousand, one hundred and twelve Naira per annum, with housing and transport allowances also stated in the letter of appointment exhibit K. The respondent’s conditions of service are contained in his letter of appointment - exhibit K, as well as the collective agreement between Nigerian Employers Association of Banks, Insurance and Allied Institution and the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institution - exhibit I.
