ADEKEYE, JCA: (Delivering the Lead Judgment): The information filed against the accused person Patrick Okoroji, now appellant before this court, at the High Court of Justice Ogun State, Abeokuta Judicial Division reads as follows:- Statement of Offence

“Receiving stolen property contrary to section 427 of the Criminal Code Cap 29 Volume 11 Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria 1978.”

Particulars of Offence

“Patrick Okoroji on or about the 25th day of July 1985, at Abeokuta in the Abeokuta Judicial Division received 172 Packets of Septrin valued N6,207.48k, 2890 packets of Brinerdine valued N15,634.90 and 400 packets of Buscopan valued N1,312 (Total value N23,154.38.00) property of Ogun,

State Government knowing same to have been stolen”.
