ABDULLAHI JCA (Delivering the Lead Judgment): On 14 December 2011, when we delivered our judgment dismissing the appeal and upholding thepreliminary objectionsraised by the respondents, we reserved our reasons for doing so to a later date. We now give our reasons for so doing as stated hereunder.

The appellant, Reverend Bunmi Olusona was the petitioner at the National Assembly Election Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the Election

Tribunal) holding at Ilorin, coram: Bitrus G. Sanga (J) Chairman, John Awa Viko (J), Member and Stephen Evon Chukwu (J) Member having been dissatisfied with the outcome of 26 April 2011, elections in which he was a candidate for Federal House of Representatives for Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/ Oke-Ero Federal Constituency of Kwara State under the platform of Action
