HELEN MORONKEJI OGUNWUMIJU, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This is an appeal against the judgment of Hon. Justice G.C. Anulude of the Anambra State High Court, delivered on the 24/3/2016 wherein the learned trial judge found the Appellant guilty of the offence of Murder and sentenced her to death by hanging. Below are the facts that led to this appeal:-

The deceased named Eucharia Ezeagbo Adama and the Appellant were both traders of provision at lfite Aguteri in Anambra state.

The case of the prosecution at the trial Court was that on 23/11/2012, the Appellant and the deceased had a quarrel and there was exchange of words between them. Unknown to the deceased, the Appellant hid a broken bottle in her wrapper and stabbed the deceased on her left elbow, injuring the deceased who bled to death in the hospital.

The Appellant was arrested by the police and was arraigned before the Anambra State High Court on 10/6/2013 for the offence of murder.
