Edemekong, J. of Uyo Judicial Division of Akwa Ibom State in suit number HU/347/98 delivered on 19/8/99. By an originating summons, the respondents who were plaintiffs, claimed the following reliefs: “1. A declaration that the plaintiffs are still in the employment of the defendants and accordingly, entitled to their salaries, allowances, fringe benefits and other perquisites with effect from 1st March, 1997 when their salaries and allowances were purportedly withheld.

An order directing the defendants to accord the plaintiffs all their rights, privileges and entitlements as staff of Oruk Anam Local Government including instant payment of their arrears of salaries, allowances and fringe benefits within 7 days of the order of this Honourable Court.
