SAMMY NDUNG’U WAITY (the appellant herein) and DENNIS KIMNGAROR LEMAN were the 1^st and 2^nd Petitioners respectively before the High Court at Nanyuki in ELECTION PETITION NO. 2 of 2017 wherein they contested the declaration of NDERITU MURIITHI (hereinafter ‘the 2^nd Respondent’) and JOHN MWANIKI (hereinafter ‘the 3^rd Respondent’) as the Governor-elect and

Deputy Governor-elect of Laikipia County by the INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL AND BOUNDARIES COMMISSION (hereinafter ‘the 1^st Respondent’), acting through the COUNTY RETURNING OFFICER-LAIKIPIA COUNTY (hereinafter ‘the 4^th Respondent’).

The said declaration was made following the General Elections of 8^th August, 2017 wherein the residents of Laikipia County turned up to elect leaders to various elective offices including but not limited to that of the President and the Governor.
