Judgement

MOHAMMED AMBI-USI DANJUMA, J.C.A. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): This appeal is against the Judgment of the High Court of Kano State delivered on 6th day of January, 2014 in Charge No. K/168C/2011 wherein the trial Judge convicted the Appellant/Accused for culpable homicide, punishable with death and sentenced him accordingly under S.221 (a) of the Penal Code by hanging.

Dissatisfied with the conviction and sentence, the Appellant had lodged an appeal vide an initial Notice of Appeal filed on 5th November, 2014 which was amended by grant of Motion filed on 3 7 2014 and granted on 20 11-14. The Amended Notice of Appeal dated 2 7 14 and deemed filed on 20 11 14 is, for ease of reference, reproduced as below:

"AMENDED NOTICE OF APPEAL:

GROUND 1

The decision of the Honourable Trial Court is unreasonable, unwarranted and cannot be supported having regard to the weight of evidence.
