JUDGMENT

 ADJEI, J.A.

The Plaintiff/Appellant applied for a summary judgement in respect of the two reliefs endorsed on its writ of summons against the Defendant in the High Court (Commercial Division) Accra and which the Court granted relief (a) and refused to grant relief (b) which is the interest to be awarded on the principal amount and the date interest was to commence. The Plaintiff dissatisfied with the ruling by the High Court delivered on 27th February, 2019 filed an interlocutory appeal against same to the Court of Appeal on 5th March, 2019.

The brief facts of the case as could be gleaned from the record of appeal are that the Plaintiff sued the Defendant to recover an amount of GH¢5,809,279.47 being the insurance claim due and owing to the Plaintiff by the Defendant and the interest on it from January, 2018 to the date of final payment.
