CONSENT JUDGMENT

By the amended notice of originating action, the Applicant instituted this action against the Respondents for the following reliefs:

(a) A declaration that the 1st and 2nd Respondents’ termination of the Applicant’s employment on the grounds of her appearance in the media on behalf of a political party was unconstitutional, unfair and a violation of the Applicant’s right to:

i. freedom of expression;

ii. freedom of speech; and

iii. freedom of association

each of which is guaranteed under Article 21 of the 1992 Constitution;

(b) An order for the payment of the Applicant’s salary which is One Hundred and Seventeen thousand Euros (€117, 000) per annum for five (5) years, as compensatory damages for violation of Applicant’s constitutional rights;

(c) An order for the payment of punitive damages against the Respondents for the violation of Applicant’s constitutional rights and unfair termination;
