Judgement

GALUMJE, J.S.C. (Delivering the Leading Judgment): The 1st appellant was a candidate in the Governorship election which was conducted by the 1st respondent throughout Plateau State on the 9th of March, 2019 and the supplementary election that was conducted by the same 1st respondent on 23rd March, 2019 He contested the election under the platform of the 2nd appellant. The 2nd respondent also contested those elections under the platform of the 3rd respondent. Other candidates contested the elections under different political parties.

At the end of the elections, the 1st respondent declared the 2nd respondent, the winner, having scored 595,585 votes as against the appellant’s score of 546,813 votes.

The appellants were dissatisfied with the result of the elections. Being aggrieved, they filed a petition at the Governorship Election Tribunal holden in Jos, where they presented the following grounds:-
