1. Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Seafarer Medical Examination and Certification) Regulations.

2. Interpretation

In these regulations, unless the context indicates otherwise—"applicant" means a person who applies for a seafarer's medical certificate under these regulations;"approved" means approved by the Authority;"Authority" means the Kenya Maritime Authority established under the Kenya Maritime Authority Act (Cap. 370);"company" means the owner of the ship or his representative or any other organization or person such as the manager, or the bareboat charterer, who has assumed the responsibility for operation of the ship from the ship owner and who, on assuming such re…
